SZA Hints at New Album ‘Lana’ Dropping This Autumn
SZA has hinted that her highly anticipated album, Lana, could be released later this autumn. The Kill Bill artist had previously announced plans for both a deluxe edition of her 2022 album SOS and a new project titled Lana. In December 2023, she even shared potential cover art for the two releases on social media. However, neither has been released in the past year.
Now, in an interview with British Vogue, SZA revealed that fans might not have to wait much longer. She suggested that both the SOS deluxe edition and her third studio album could drop this autumn. Additionally, the new track PSA, which she performed live during her Hyde Park show, is expected to be featured on Lana.

SZA recently explained that she is taking a break from performing live, a decision she addressed in her interview with British Vogue. She mentioned that she often struggles with whether she should continue in music, describing how she constantly questions if her journey in music has come to an end. She expressed doubts about fame, admitting that she feels she might not be suited for it due to the anxiety it causes her. She reflected on her situation, saying that she feels like she’s spiralling and that the demands of fame might not align with who she is.
Despite her challenges, SZA shared that she believes her position in the industry must have a purpose. She said that she continues to push herself to meet expectations, even though it feels overwhelming. She acknowledged that it hasn’t been easy, describing the process as a struggle that leaves her feeling exhausted and defeated at times.
Discussing the creative process behind her upcoming album Lana, SZA explained that it stems from a more positive place compared to her earlier work. She noted that she no longer identifies with the pain she experienced in the past, emphasizing that it no longer defines her. She described her shift in perspective as a gradual process, stating that her music is becoming lighter as she works through her personal challenges.
SZA also reflected on her Glastonbury performance, which faced significant technical and audio issues. Afterward, she defended her efforts on social media, commenting on how difficult it is to live and perform publicly while acknowledging others who face similar struggles. Looking back on the experience, she admitted that she felt as though nothing she could do would satisfy expectations. She explained that the pressure to deliver as a Black woman in such a high-profile role felt immense, but ultimately accepted it as part of life.
Finally, SZA hinted at another project in the works, suggesting that Kendrick Lamar might be releasing a new album in the near future.
