SZA made her second appearance on sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live on the 3rd of December. The episode was hosted by actress Keke Palmer, who announced her pregnancy. SZA revealed the release date of her sophomore album, S.O.S and also debuted a new song.
The singer performed her single ‘Shirt’ in front of a starry background, along with two dancers. As the song came to an end, imagery announcing the date of her second album appeared. For her second performance ‘Blind’, she was accompanied by a full band.
A few days prior to the appearance, the album’s cover art was revealed. It features the artist sitting at the end of a diving board, while wearing a number 5 jersey and looking ahead.
In a recent interview, SZA spoke about her longevity in music and how she sees her career progressing. “I feel like music, in this capacity, I don’t see longevity. I like to create, I like to write, I like to sing, and I like to share. But I don’t know if chasing after superstardom or whatever I’m supposed to be doing right now is sustainable for me or for anybody. I’mma take a good swing at it, and I’mma give ’em my absolute best.”
The S.O.S album is a follow-up to her 2017 album, CTRL.
