The tune ‘Nobody Gets Me’ from SZA's album ‘SOS’ now has a sombre black-and-white music video. The R&B singer can be seen in the music video, reminiscing about a former lover as she strolls through the streets and up on the rooftops of New York. It was directed by Bradley J. Calder.
The song is from her recently released album and has already been previewed by the tracks ‘Good Days’, ‘I Hate U’ and ‘Shirt’.
It includes collaborations with Don Toliver ('Used'), Travis Scott ('Open Arms') and Phoebe Bridgers ('Ghost In The Machine'). In the album's final track, ‘Forgiveless,’ the late Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ol' Dirty B*****d is featured.
SZA recently acknowledged that a picture of Princess Diana served as the inspiration for the ‘SOS’ album cover. SZA is shown on the cover perched on the edge of a white diving board and surrounded by deep blue water. A snapshot of Princess Diana was taken in 1997, and sees her in a similar pose aboard a yacht during a trip in Portofino, Italy, also surrounded by the sea.
Earlier this week, fans noticed similarities between the two photos and informed SZA of their findings over social media.
“Originally I was supposed to be on top of a shipping barge, but in the references that I pulled for that, I pulled the Diana reference,” SZA said when asked about the reference during a recent interview with Hot 97. “Because I just loved how she isolated she felt, and that was what I wanted to convey the most.”
