SZA’s ‘SOS’ Tops The Billboard 200 Albums Chart For The Second Week in a Row

SZA is peaking in her career! Her album, ‘SOS’ has managed to spend yet another week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. Her album has earned 180000 equivalent album units in the US according to Luminate, and the set in itself debuted atop the list with 318000 units. Not only SZA, BTS member RM has also scored his first ever top 10-charting album with ‘Indigo’ on No. 3.

The Billboard 200 chart is a multi metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, and with those units, it ranks the most popular albums of the week in the US. Taylor Swift’s ‘Midnights’ was previously at No. 1, and is now at No. 2 and stands rigid as a non-mover.

On the other hand, RM’s ‘Indigo’, which is his first top 10 album as a soloist, is at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 following its CD release this month. BTS, as a band, has managed to log seven top 10s, and that’s not all. They have also managed to reach No. 1 with 6 of their albums. Indigo initially debuted at No. 15 on the chart and then eventually slipped off the chart until the CD release, and then it climbed upward to No. 3.

“It’s about heartbreak, it’s about being lost, it’s about being pissed,” SZA said about her album and specifically the song ‘Kill Bill’. “I don’t want none, I just want you / If I can’t have you, no one should.” The lyrics are succeeded by a fantasy of her killing her ex and his new girlfriend. By the end of the song, there is no sense of remorse and the crime has been committed already. “I did it all for love,” SZA nonchalantly explains. “Rather be in hell than alone.”
