Take a Look at the 45 Most Highly Anticipated Albums of 2022

With more ambiguity on the horizon, one thing is certain: a strong release schedule. With some musicians preparing their second or third releases of the pandemic, 2022 is already shaping up to be a major year for new albums. Of course, many others are releasing a pandemic record for the first time. Check out the 45 most highly anticipated albums of 2022.

‘Time Skiffs’ is an Animal Collective album out on February 4, that should please longstanding fans and casual listeners equally, thanks to the tracks ‘Prester John’ and ‘Walker,’ both of which have harmonising melodies that flow into freewheeling jam sessions.

Beach House is releasing its eighth album, ‘Once Twice Melody’ in chapters. It’s first two chapters were already released last year. The third and the fourth chapter will be released on January 19 and February 18 respectively.

Bloc Party’s sixth album, ‘Alpha Games’, due for release on 29th April, tries to capture a rapid, discordant collection of indie rock gone post-punk.

Hurray for the Riff Raff’s ‘Life on Earth’ album, marks a new chapter of contemplation for the band, with Segarra identifying Bad Bunny, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, and the Clash as important influences. Its due on 18th February.

Let’s Eat Grandma, the British team of Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth, are back after a three-year hiatus. Their new album, ‘Two Ribbons’, which is inspired by the Norfolk landscape is due for release on 8th April. “Hall of Mirrors,” the album’s lead hit, is a billowing synth pop track, while the title track is a stripped-down ballad composed entirely by Hollingworth.

Abel Tesfaye had released his new album, ‘Dawn FM’ on 7th January, following the long campaign behind his 2020 record ‘After Hours’—an era marked by omnipresent hit songs, a Super Bowl halftime concert, and a Grammy snub-turned-boycott. He had hinted, “The dawn is coming,” several times ahead of Dawn FM.
