Taylor Swift Invites Maren Morris to Perform ‘You All Over Me’ in Chicago For The First Time
Swifties present at Taylor Swift’s second Eras Tour stop in Chicago had a special treat, courtesy of country singer Maren Morris.
Swift addressed the crowd and gave them an exclusive treat near the end of her performance. According to a video taken by a fan, she announced that she would be performing a song that she had never performed live before. “When I was re-recording Fearless, I thought it would be really cool to have one of my favorite artists sing on one of the songs ‘From the Vault.’ We are so lucky Chicago … because not only did that artist say ‘yes,’ but Maren Morris is actually here tonight.”
Soon after that, the ‘My Church’ singer took the stage to lively cheers from the crowd. The pair began performing ‘You All Over Me,’ a beloved ‘From the Vault’ song from ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’, while holding their respective acoustic guitars. Swift and Morris stood in the centre of the stage as they brought the sombre country classic to life for the first time in front of an actual live audience.
Morris’ unexpected on-stage entrance surprised more than just the audience; shortly after the performance, the singer posted on Instagram to thank Swift and the crowd for having her. “We finally got to play ‘You All Over Me’ and I won’t ever be shutting up about it,” Morris wrote under a black-and-white photo of the duo performing together. “Love you @taylorswift and love you always, Chicago.”
Morris is by no means the only unannounced performer Swift has brought out during her Eras Tour stops across the nation; in New Jersey, Ice Spice made an appearance and performed her remix of ‘Karma’ on each of the three nights of Swift’s mini-residency at MetLife Stadium, and earlier performances have included Marcus Mumford, Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff.
