Taylor Swift Named Artist of The Year at 2024 MTV VMAs

At the MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift emerged as the Artist of the Year, clinching the coveted moon person trophy. She outperformed fellow nominees Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, Eminem, and SZA in this prestigious category.

The awards ceremony, held at the UBS Arena in New York, announced Swift’s win during a commercial break. This accolade is a highlight in an already stellar year for Swift, who led the nominations with a total of 12, predominantly for her hit single “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone.

The accompanying video for ‘Fortnight’ featured actors Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles, adding to the song’s acclaim.

Swift’s success extended beyond Artist of the Year. She also secured wins for Best Collaboration, Best Pop, Song of the Summer, Best Direction, and Best Editing, all attributed to the impactful ‘Fortnight’ video. Swift and Malone jointly accepted the Best Collaboration award at the start of the show. Swift expressed her gratitude to Malone, praising his talent and collaborative spirit, and used the moment to acknowledge the team behind the video.

Malone, overwhelmed by the recognition, praised Swift’s dedication and the meticulous effort she put into their collaboration. He highlighted the genuine care and love she invests in her work, further cementing their successful partnership.

Throughout the evening, Swift remained a lively presence at the UBS Arena. She engaged enthusiastically with performances, including those by Karol G and Katy Perry. Swift was seen singing along to Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ alongside friend Suki Waterhouse and enjoying hits like ‘E.T’. and ‘California Gurls’, showcasing her vibrant energy and love for music.
