Taylor Swift Surprises Toronto Audience With Gracie Abrams for a Performance of ‘Us’

Taylor Swift surprised fans in Toronto on 16th November by bringing out Gracie Abrams for a live performance of their collaboration, Us.

The song, co-written by Swift, Abrams, and The National’s Aaron Dessner, debuted in June as part of Abrams’ second album, The Secret Of Us. It was co-produced by Dessner, Swift, and Jack Antonoff.

During the third of Swift’s six shows at Toronto’s Rogers Centre, the pop icon invited Abrams—who is serving as the opening act for this final leg of the Eras Tour—onstage. Together, they delivered a unique rendition of Us that was seamlessly mashed up with Out Of The Woods from Swift’s 1989.

As she introduced Gracie Abrams onstage, Taylor Swift reflected on the significance of the tour, noting that a lot of life and creativity can unfold over its course. She shared her belief that the audience would remember the “genius, brilliant young lady” they saw earlier that night.

Swift reminisced about their past experiences together, recalling that a year ago, Abrams had opened for her on the Eras Tour. The two had made many fun memories, including celebrating Abrams’ Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, which they marked by enjoying numerous cosmos together.

The performance came during the same week that Us earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The song will compete against tracks like Beyoncé and Post Malone’s Levii’s Jeans and Charli XCX and Billie Eilish’s Guess.

Swift also received six Grammy nominations this year, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year, all of which she credited to her fans during a previous show in Toronto.

This marked the second time Swift and Abrams had performed Us together on the Eras Tour, having previously debuted the song live at London’s Wembley Stadium on June 23.
