The next stop for Swifties is Stanford University! This is where students will be offered a class on Taylor Swift’s ‘All Too Well (10 Minute Version)’ in the next quarter. The course is cleverly titled ‘All Too Well (10 Week Version)’ and will be taught under the umbrella of Stanford’s Introductory Studies. It promises an in-depth analysis of the song’s lyrics and will be taught by alum Nona Hungate.
According to the university’s website, the ITAL 99 courses “offer students an introduction to topics taught by alumni of the program. With each quarter offering unique courses, these student-led classes are focused on hands-on learning and have included topics such as travel sketching, watercolour, music composition, improv acting, animation, and digital art, among many others.”
This is not the only university to study Swift’s artistry and her emotive lyrics. NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music also launched a class on her taught by Rolling Stone writer Brittany Spanos. “Literary Contests and Contexts — The Taylor Swift Songbook” is the course, where her songwriting is studied alongside the likes of Chaucer, Shakespeare, Wyatt, Coleridge, Keats, Dickinson and Plath with a focus on four of her most recent albums.
Swift, on the other hand, is focusing on her wildly anticipated ‘The Eras Tour’ which will kick off next week from State Farm Arena in Glendale. Paramore and GAYLE will open the concert for her.
