Williamson County Animal Center made an announcement on Facebook, stating that four adoptable dogs have been named after Taylor Swift’s songs to honour the donation she made to the animal shelter. The dogs have been named ‘Bejeweled’, ‘Midnight Rain’, ‘Carolina’ and ‘Willow’. While the first two are named after Swift’s songs from her recent album ‘Midnights’, the latter two appeared on the soundtrack of ‘Where The Crawdads Sing’ and her album ‘Evermore’, respectively.
“We recently received a generous donation from legendary singer-songwriter Taylor Swift”, the post on Facebook read. “While all Swifties know Taylor loves cats, we hope she won’t mind that we named our newest adoptable puppies after her songs”. The animal shelter confirmed that ‘Midnight Rain’ and ‘Willow’ have been adopted by loving families, but ‘Bejeweled’ and ‘Carolina’ are still up for adoption. They urged potential adopters “to consider if your family is ready for the significant commitment of adopting a puppy”. Swift’s song, ‘Carolina’ was mentioned in the shortlist for Best Original Song for this year’s Academy Awards last month.
A Taylor Swift-themed break up bar will open in Chicago, Illinois to establish this year’s Valentine’s Day as the official “(Anti) Valentine’s Season”. The Swifties will be able to visit the ‘Bad Blood’ pop-up establishment in February where they can expect “cocktails, singing and memory making.”
