Taylor Swift’s Eras book has sold over 800,000 copies in its first weekend of release, according to new data from Circana shared via The Hollywood Reporter. The book, which sold 814,000 copies during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in the U.S., was available exclusively at Target and not through major retailers like Amazon.
Swift announced the release of the book on social media, aligning its launch with the final date of her Eras tour on December 8. The impressive sales figures place her in a category with Barack Obama, whose memoir A Promised Land sold 816,000 copies during its first week of release in 2020.

Earlier this week, Swift reacted to her album The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology being named the most-streamed album of 2024 on Apple Music. The platform’s year-end charts revealed her expanded eleventh studio album achieved this milestone, with Swift also recognized as the most-streamed artist of the year. Expressing her gratitude in an Instagram Story, she thanked fans for their support and enthusiasm for the album.
In July, The Tortured Poets Department had already been identified as the year’s biggest album in the U.S., earning 4.66 million equivalent album units in its first half. The record also became the first by a woman to spend its initial 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
Swift recently reflected on her Eras tour as its conclusion approaches, sharing how emotional the experience has been for her and her team. The tour will end with three shows in Vancouver starting December 6. She described the upcoming final performances as marking the end of an extraordinary chapter in her life.
