Taylor Swift Re-Recorded Her Rendition of ‘This Love’ from 1989

‘This Love (Taylor’s Version)’ is another track from Taylor Swift’s rework of the 2014 album ‘1989’. Taylor Swift took to social media to announce the track’s arrival on 6th May.

It came with a lyric video that featured a length of boardwalk surrounded by swaying grasses and a dusky blue sky, with the song’s lyrics fading in and out across it. Look it up below.

The song was first featured in the trailer for an OTT’s new show ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’. Swift confirmed that the re-recorded tune would be released in full later, writing on social media that she has always been incredibly proud of this song.

Swift has released two re-recorded tracks from 1989, the first being ‘Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)’ in September last year. She hasn’t said whether more songs from ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’, or the entire re-recorded album, would be released.

After Scooter Braun and his company sold her original master recordings to a private equity group, Swift chose to re-record a number of her older albums. ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ was the first of her re-recorded CDs, which she released in April of last year. Months later, ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ was released, which featured a ten-minute rendition of ‘All Too Well’ as well as a short film starring Dylan O’Brien and Sadie Sink.

Swift premiered a whole new song, ‘Carolina,’ in the trailer for the film adaptation of Delia Owens’ blockbuster 2018 novel ‘Where The Crawdads Sing’, starring Normal People’s Daisy Edgar Jones, in addition to her re-recorded music.

Swift, along with John David Washington, Margot Robbie and Christian Bale, appears in the teaser for David O. Russell’s film, ‘Amsterdam’. She hasn’t acted since playing Bombalurina in the live-action adaptation of Cats in 2019.
