Harry Styles won Album of the Year at the Grammys for Harry's House, which surprised netizens. Others who were nominated in the same category included Beyoncé, Adele, Kendrick Lamar and others. Some members of the Grammys audience expressed their displeasure that Styles had beaten Beyoncé.
They heckled Styles during his acceptance speech, shouting ‘Beyoncé’ and ‘Beyoncé should've won’. Footage of this is going viral on TikTok, along with his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift's reaction. Swift remained silent throughout Styles' speech, watching him intently. When she heard the heckling, she appeared to look down. This was a flashback moment for her.
Remember when Ye famously interrupted her 2009 VMAs speech to say Beyoncé should've won?
Swift was especially encouraging of Styles on Grammy night. She not only gave him standing ovations during his performance and acceptance speeches, but she also snuck over to his table to talk to him at one point during the show. She had a long talk with him and hugged him. The evening's photographers also captured her placing her hand on his back.
Now this is a another historic #Grammys moment. During Steve Lacy’s performance, Taylor Swift snuck over to talk to Harry Styles. They hug + talk for a long time over his table. pic.twitter.com/MX75UmcxJM

While Beyoncé made history as the artist with the most Grammy wins, she has never won Album of the Year. Being declined the award for Lemonade or Renaissance was a major disappointment for her fans. Adele, who won over Beyoncé in 2017 for her album 25, famously refused to accept the award onstage because she felt Beyoncé deserved it.
“I can’t possibly accept this award, and I’m very humbled and very grateful and gracious but my life is Beyoncé, and the album to me, the Lemonade album, Beyoncé, was so monumental, and so well thought-out,” Adele said during her acceptance speech. “And so beautiful and soul-baring and we all got to see another side of you that you don’t always let us see, and we appreciate that. And all us artists adore you. You are our light. And the way that you make me and my friends feel, the way you make my Black friends feel is empowering, and you make them stand up for themselves. And I love you. I always have. And I always will. I appreciate it.”
Backstage, Styles admitted that his Album of the Year win surprised him because these awards are never predictable. When reporters asked him whether he expected Beyoncé to win, he said, “You never know with this stuff. I don’t think you can look at any of the nominees and not feel like they’re deserving. When I look at this category, it’s all people who have inspired me at different times, so it’s not like—y’know, you would understand anyone winning. And yeah, I’m really grateful that they chose us.”
