Fans are abuzz with speculation that The Cure might be gearing up for a musical comeback. The excitement stems from recent updates, including changes to the band’s social media logos, a revamped website, and intriguing posts from both band members and their families.
On 9th September, The Cure updated their official social media profiles with a striking new logo against a solid black background. This unexpected shift has fuelled speculation that Robert Smith and the band could be preparing to announce their long-anticipated release, ‘Songs of a Lost World.’
Fans eagerly flocked to the comments on the band’s Facebook update to express their excitement. “Please let it be finally an announcement of the new album!!” wrote one user while another shared: “Come on gents, announce the new album! I hope we get it soon along with a new tour!”
Another fan wrote: “Come on, new album. I want to hear the studio version of those new songs you played in Leeds 2022.”

They were mentioning songs such as ‘A Fragile Thing,’ ‘Another Happy Birthday,’ and ‘I Can Never Say Goodbye,’ which were among the new tracks the band premiered during their 2022 tour.
In addition, guitarist Reeves Gabrels posted a link directing fans to the band's revamped website and encouraged them to join the mailing list. Meanwhile, Eden, the son of bassist Simon Gallup (who filled in for his father on several 2019 dates), stirred up excitement by sharing the lyrics to the new song ‘Alone’: “This is the end of every song that we sing…”
The announcement precedes the release of The Cure’s two new live recordings, set to be released as a double A-side single benefitting the climate charity ‘Earth Percent.’

The single, titled ‘The Cure – Novembre: Live in France 2022,’ is a 12” Eco-Vinyl release from Naked Record Club, known for its limited edition records made from sustainable vinyl. It features two live tracks from the French leg of the band’s ‘Shows of a Lost World’ tour.
The first track, ‘And Nothing Is Forever,’ was recorded on 8th November, 2022, at the Sud de France Arena in Montpellier, while ‘I Can Never Say Goodbye’ was recorded on 13th November, 2022, at the Zénith in Toulouse. These are The Cure’s first new tracks in 16 years.
