The Friends Reunion Paycheck

The Friends reunion that aired on 27th May on OTT platforms was more expensive than you could possibly imagine. Getting the old crew back together cost an estimate of $15,000,000! 

Back in 2002, The six main cast members consisting of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc were paid $1,000,000 per episode in the final season, this year for the reunion they were paid $2,500,000 each.

The six cast members were initially offered $1,000,000 for the reunion, the same that they were given for the final season of the show, but all the six cast members turned it down settling for a price that was double. This is not the first time the cast members have allegedly worked together to decide upon a higher salary. They have been negotiating together on their paychecks since the third season of the show. Though David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston were paid a higher amount in the first season as the romance between their characters served as the main substance, they insisted that the rest of the cast was paid the same amount in the following seasons. 

The actors were gradually able to go from being paid $75,000 each during season three to $1,000,000 by the final season. So it comes as no surprise that their salaries were doubled for the final on-screen reunion.
