The Jonas Brothers Pay Tribute to Liam Payne With a Cover of One Direction’s ‘Night Changes’

The Jonas Brothers recently paid tribute to the late Liam Payne by performing a cover of One Direction’s ‘Night Changes’. Payne tragically passed away on 16th October at the age of 31 after a fall from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Argentinian prosecutor’s office reported his death was caused by multiple traumas, along with internal and external bleeding.

During their California concert on 10th November, the brothers honoured Payne with an emotional rendition of ‘Night Changes.’ Nick Jonas started by singing the first verse, with Joe joining in for the second. They alternated lines until the end, letting the audience sing the song’s final lyric on their own.

After the death of the One Direction star, preliminary toxicology tests indicated that Payne had “pink co**ine” and other substances in his system at the time of his fatal fall from a balcony. A more recent toxicology report confirmed the presence of additional substances, including al**hol and antidep****ants.

Last week, three people were formally charged in connection with his death, though their names were initially withheld. On 10th November, it was reported that one of the suspects, Braian Nahuel Paiz, had spoken publicly about the case for the first time.

He revealed that he had met the late One Direction singer twice before his passing and admitted to using substances together. However, he maintained that he never provided Liam Payne with any na***tics or took money from him.

Meanwhile, Rita Ora offered a heartfelt tribute to Payne while hosting the 2024 MTV EMAs on 10th November. Speaking on stage at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, she said that she wanted to “take a moment to remember someone very, very dear” to everyone. Ora mentioned that Payne had been an important part of the MTV community, her life, and likely many fans’ lives as well. She said that while there were many ways they considered honouring him, sometimes simply speaking about him was enough.

All four remaining members of One Direction—Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan—have since posted individual tributes to Payne, along with a statement from the group.
