The Strokes Return To Saturday Night Live

On October 31, 2020, New-York based band, The Strokes made their fourth appearance on Saturday Night Live. The band appeared on the Halloween themed episode to perform their songs “The Adults Are Talking” and “Bad Decisions.”

Further Details:

The Strokes delivered a stunning rendition of these tracks. The two records feature on their latest album titled ‘The New Abnormal.’ Furthermore, the album was released on April 10, 2020, and has been critically acclaimed as one of the band’s best ones yet.

Additionally, this week’s episode was hosted by John Mulaney. This was his fourth appearance on the show as a host. This was the group’s first appearance on SNL in nine years. Lucky for us, the band didn’t disappoint with their performance of these tracks from their sixth album.

Notes On Next Week’s Episode:

On the night of this week’s SNL episode, it was announced that comedian Dave Chapelle will be making his return. The comic is slated to host the show on November 7, 2020. However, at the time there has been no announcement on which musical guest will be taking the stage next week.

The Strokes On Playing Old Songs:

Recently, the group’s lead singer, Julian Casablancas, opened up on his thoughts on playing old songs repeatedly. When asked about this he said: “When you’re growing up and imagining playing music, it is for the excitement, but the one aspect of doing it for a living that is a sadness you don’t anticipate is that you play songs so much, you become sick of them.

“We hadn’t played for a while, so it was still fun, but when you start playing 30 or 40 shows, the music doesn’t move you. You feel phoney.”
As Saturday Night Live continues to make the news for all the fun that the episode brings us, The Strokes reminded us why they still remain so popular.
