The After Hours Universe

The music video for ‘Too Late’ will mark the 6th visual installment in the “After Hours” landscape. Other videos from The Weeknd’s sonic universe include ‘Heartless’, ‘Until I Bleed Out’, ‘Blinding Lights’, and ‘In Your Eyes’.

Further, the singer released a hard-hitting and emotional animated music video for the track, ‘Snowchild’. The visualiser detailed the singer’s journey, marking ten years of his stay in the music industry. In addition, the video gave viewers a glimpse into the darkness and loneliness that the singer experienced through the years.

The Weeknd Rakes in Big Bucks

“After Hours”, The Weeknd’s latest studio album, has proven to be a mammoth commercial success. Led by the singles, ‘Heartless’ and ‘Blinding Lights’, the singer landed atop both the Billboard 200 albums chart and the Hot 100 singles chart. Further, ‘Blinding Lights‘ continues to stay in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 rankings. And, with that becomes the longest Top 5 stay for any artist in the chart’s history.

Further, as per latest industry reports, The Weeknd contributed majorly to his parent label, Universal Music Group’s success in 2020. Reports stated that UMG grew by more than a billion dollars through streaming, even in the midst of the global pandemic. And, while the industry came to a halt in some sense, UMG made massive gains. And, at the epicentre of that was The Weeknd. He was the label’s “biggest revenue-generating artist in the first nine months of 2020″.
