The Weeknd Becomes The First Artist to Reach 100 Million Monthly Listeners on Spotify

The Weeknd has broken yet another record by becoming the first artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify!

“It’s official: On February 27, The Weeknd became the first artist in Spotify History to reach 100 Million monthly listeners,” Spotify announced via official social media accounts. Apart from Abel Tesfaye, Drake has 68.6 million, Taylor Swift has 80.3 million and Miley Cyrus has 82.5 million monthly listeners. 

This comes after his latest remix of ‘Die for You’ with Ariana grande was released. They have frequently collaborated before for ‘Love Me Harder’, ‘Off The Table’ and ‘Save Your Tears’. Just recently, his new concert special premiered on HBO Max called ‘The Weekend: Live at SoFi Stadium. He also revealed that his musical documentary will close out his album cycle for ‘Dawn FM. He tweeted, “HBO concert will be the last piece of Dawn FM. I can see the horizon.”

His upcoming drama on HBO, ‘The Idol’ will also premiere this year. Sam Levinson, Reza Fahim, Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan, and BLACKPINK’s Jennie are going to be a part of the show.
