The Weeknd has struck gold with his collaborations this year. Be it with Doja Cat over ‘In Your Eyes’ or the late Juice WRLD on ‘Smile’ – he’s been on quite the winning streak. But the man has refused to rest on his laurels just yet and his latest announcement is proof of that. The Weeknd and Calvin Harris have a brand new collaborative track in the works.
The young star had first teased this collaboration by sharing a rather grainy picture of himself hanging out with the Scottish producer. And this simply opened the floodgates for a slew of other teaser images. For starters, the visuals confirmed two things: the official title and release date of the track.
The first teaser features a frozen glitch of The Weeknd’s face, with the track’s title sitting above the image, ‘Over Now’. The second teaser sees the formation of an eclipse, against a starry gradient. And the third, shows us what appears to be a gigantic lego version of The Weeknd, towering over buildings.
Now, this brand new track follows the trail of demos left behind by The Weeknd in celebration of the seventh anniversary of his debut album, “Kiss Land”. Among the demos lay a remixed cover of Lana Del Rey’s ‘Money Power Glory‘ which once again thrust the star under the spotlight. Coming to Calvin Harris, ‘Over Now’ will follow his latest track released under the new moniker Love Regenerator. This tune was titled, ‘Live Without Your Love‘.
‘Over Now’ is set to make its landing this Friday, August 28th.
