The Weeknd Makes an Appearance in a New Episode of ‘The Simpsons’

Check out clips of The Weeknd’s debut on The Simpsons, which aired last night (March 20). Abel Tesfaye lent his voice to the character, Orion Hughes, a child influencer who owns the fictional streetwear brand ‘Slipreme.’ Hughes helps Bart become cool in the episode ‘Bart The Cool Kid,’ and Homer ends up persuading the local dads to emulate The Weeknd’s style as well.

Below are some clips from the episode.

The Weeknd lent his voice to the animated shows Robot Chicken and American Dad back in 2020! For the latter appearance, the singer played a character that loosely resembled himself. Tesfaye also collaborated on the scriptwriting process for the episode titled ‘A Starboy Is Born’ along with American Dad scriptwriter Joel Hurwitz.

The Canadian artist told Variety that being on The Simpsons was on his “bucket list” when asked about his contribution to the Seth Macfarlane-created series. “That would be a dream — and if they’re reading this, I actually have a pretty cool idea if they’re down,” he said in May 2020.

The Weeknd played himself in Uncut Gems and is set to star in The Idol, an upcoming HBO series that he co-wrote and executive produced. The singer also recently disproved a rumoured “original” tracklist for his latest album, “Dawn FM.”

‘Euphoria,’ a collaboration with Ariana Grande and Ty Dolla $ign, and ‘Eat My Heart,’ a Kali Uchis collaboration, are among them. ‘Lost City,’ ‘Don’t Break My Heart,’ and ‘Angels’ are among the other song names.

Earlier this week, however, The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye – retweeted the Buzzing Pop post on his official Twitter account along with the message: “I love every single one of these artists but this is beyond fake. XO.”
