The Weeknd Teases New Album Release

Canadian crooner, The Weeknd has started the New Year on a good note by teasing fans with the imminent arrival of his highly anticipated fifth studio album, The Dawn is Coming which was originally teased on YouTube.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye has taken to Instagram to give his fans an update on the project, seemingly teasing fans that he will not be doing an extended rollout and wants to “just drop the whole thing.” He posted a screenshot of his text conversation with the co-founder of XO Records, La Mar Taylor which showed Taylor asking, “Happy New Year brother! What we thinking??” The Weeknd then responded, “Happy new year! Everything feels chaotic again. Music can heal and that feels more important than another album rollout. Let’s just drop the whole thing and enjoy it with the people… XO.” Taylor’s contact photo can also be seen and appears to allude to this next album motif “Dawn.” The comment sections immediately erupted, with fans evidently sharing their excitement for the imminent release.

The end of 2021 has seen The Weeknd hit major milestones. Recently, he celebrated the 10th anniversary of Echoes of Silence with an exclusive Sorayama capsule collection.
