The Witcher: New fantasy series to stream on Netflix

The streaming giant Netflix will be releasing “The Witcher” on 20th December. The fantasy TV series is intended to become the next Game of Thrones!! It is based on the novel series “Geralt of Rivia” written by a polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel series based on a monster hunter (or Witcher) with supernatural powers.

It is set to be scripted by Daredevil writer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who has reeled in a number of directors including Alik Sakharov (Game of Thrones) and Charlotte Brandstrom (Outlander). She’s also managed to land Henry “Superman” Cavill in the lead role.

Early June, Henry Cavill confirmed in an instagram post that filming had wrapped up. He also told fans that he’d been waking up at 3 AM for hair and make up for his role! “Season one of The Witcher has finally come to an end,” he wrote. “The cast and crew worked tirelessly throughout, everyone pitched in and brought their A game to set and I couldn’t be more proud of you all.”

Recently Netflix released a clip of Henry , the lead , wearing a catchy grey wig !He will be joined by Freya Allan (The War of the Worlds), who will play Ciri, princess of Cintra, Jodhi May (Game of Thrones) in the role of Queen Calanthe, and Adam Levy (Knightfall, Snatch), as druid Mousesack. Anya Chalotra will play powerful sorceress (and Geralt’s love interest) Yennefer, who Netflix recently showed off in some new images.

It’s not quite clear what the series is about but will it beat Game of thrones!?

Everyone has been asking if it will compare to GOT and for that Cavill showed up on the Kimmel show to resolve questions! On the show a picture of him side by side with Darnery’s Targaryen from GOT were places and.. Well… they both have the same hair!

He also mentioned that he does all the stunts by himself! “I do my best not” to rely on stunt men, said Cavill, “For me, it’s really important that the character exists within the action as well. Rather than just an acting scene”.

Regardless of whether The Witcher goes on to satisfy Game of Thrones fans with similarly epic action and intrigue, or even carves its own fandom by bringing something completely fresh to the table!
