Things You Need to Know About Reggaeton Icon, Ivy Queen

For decades, Ivy Queen, also known by her real name Martha Ivelisse Pesante Rodriguez, has stood as one of the most influential figures in the Reggaeton music scene. With a multitude of hit songs both as a solo artist and within groups, her musical prowess has transcended borders, taking her on a journey across the globe.

At the onset of Ivy Queen's music career, she was a member of the musical group ‘The Noise’. Subsequently, she launched her follow-up, ‘The Original Rude Girl’. Although she took a brief hiatus from music, upon her return, she unleashed some of her most iconic hits, including ‘Quiero Bailar,’ featured on her album ‘Diva’.

Her success in the reggaeton world solidified her as a reigning figure, and she has consistently defended her title as ‘The Queen of Reggaeton’. She told the outlet, “The more clothes you take off, the more controversial you are. Empowerment is more than that. You earn your own money; you earn your own spot. I try to maintain my essence, of what reggaetón was, and what reggaetón is. I don’t want to be a puppet.”
