This is What Jada Pinkett Smith’s Kids Thought About Her Memoir
Jada Pinkett Smith is making headlines with her candid memoir, ‘Worthy.’ In a recent interview, the ‘Girls Trip’ star revealed that her family had a good idea of what to expect from her book before its publication. This transparency about the book’s content, especially the stories involving her family, provided an interesting insight into her close-knit relationships.
She began by explaining her approach to sharing her book with her family. “What I did was tell them what’s in the book, what stories I was going to tell about them specifically, and [ask] if they were okay with that,” Jada said.

Interestingly, her daughter, 22-year-old Willow Smith, was the first to dive into the memoir. Describing Willow as an avid reader, Jada mentioned that her daughter had the opportunity to read a substantial portion of the book even before it was fully edited. “She couldn’t wait,” Jada said, “she’s like, ‘Mom, I’m taking this copy. I got to finish my read.’ She was super excited about it.”
However, it seems that Jaden and Trey, her sons with Will Smith, had a slightly different reaction. Jada explained that she informed them about the book’s content, but they haven’t delved into it yet. “They’ll read it eventually,” she mentioned in the interview.
Jada Pinkett Smith has been a constant in the headlines with revelations from her memoir over the past few days. One of the most shocking revelations was her disclosure of her secret separation from Will Smith in 2016. She expressed that by that time, both of them felt exhausted from trying to fit their relationship into preconceived notions. She describes the complexity of their long-standing marriage, leaving many people wondering about the future of their relationship.

Nonetheless, Jada made it clear that they are working on reconciliation. She stated that they are in a deep, healing space and are concentrating on healing their relationship, emphasizing that there’s no intention of finding another great love. In her interview with Stephen Colbert on ‘The Late Show,’ she kept it simple by saying, “That’s still my man.”
Will Smith, on the other hand, added a touch of humour to the situation. In a video posted on his Instagram titled “OFFICIAL STATEMENT,” he playfully addressed the ongoing conversation about their marriage. The video featured him saying, “Right, I got something for you. Here’s the thing. So, my opinion…” before sneezing, prompting the camera to zoom out across various landscapes. The light-hearted video garnered positive reactions from fans.
The couple, who married in 1997 and share two children, Jaden and Willow, has chosen an unconventional path by maintaining separate residences since 2016. However, they seem determined to explore the possibility of reuniting under one roof. In the same interview, Jada explained that they are working very hard on bringing their relationship back to a life partnership, indicating a potential return to cohabitation.
In his recent profile of Jada on The New York Times, Will Smith opened up about reading her memoir and how it affected him. He shared that the book “kind of woke him up,” underscoring the impact of their long-term relationship and the need to rediscover each other’s subtleties and nuances.
