Timothée Chalamet’s Hit Album: A Surprise Success on Billboard’s Charts

Timothée Chalamet is experiencing a significant moment. He received his second Best Actor nomination as the 2025 Academy Awards draw near, after receiving his first in 2018 for ‘Call Me by Your Name’. This time, he’s receiving recognition for his incredibly committed performance as Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s Best Picture-nominated film ‘A Complete Unknown’. The fact that ‘Dune: Part Two’, another of his movies, is also a candidate for Best Picture heightens the anticipation. In addition to his acting achievements, Chalamet’s work on the music of ‘A Complete Unknown’ has earned him a successful album on the Billboard charts.
Forbes reports that the soundtrack is currently at the top of the Soundtracks chart and has risen to No. 44 on the Top Album Charts. Chalamet’s name is listed first in the artist credits because his performances as Dylan are a major part of the album. Edward Norton and Monica Barbaro, who have both received Oscar nominations for their performances in the movie, also contributed to the music.

Although Chalamet had previously shown off his singing prowess in 2023’s ‘Wonka’, his performance on ‘A Complete Unknown’ has elevated his musical skills to a new level. In an effort to fully capture the essence of the renowned artist, he spent five years training for the role of Dylan. Additionally, he made a rare appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ as both host and musical guest, performing a number of Dylan songs in his own unique way instead of impersonating them.
His major interest is still acting, even with his recent musical success. His upcoming project is the A24 movie Marty Supreme, which was directed by Josh Safdie, who is also renowned for ‘Uncut Gems’ and ‘Good Time’. Strong rumours also circulate that he will return for ‘Dune: Messiah’, a third Dune movie that is now under development but has not yet received official approval. According to director Denis Villeneuve, production might begin in 2026.
In March, Conan O’Brien will present the 2025 Academy Awards. Chalamet’s career is still going strong, as seen by her numerous awards and accomplishments in both music and movies.
