‘TMNT’ is Bidding Goodbye to Netflix Soon

Two of the most controversial films in the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ franchise are about to lose their primary streaming platform. The 2014 and 2016 TMNT movies, featuring Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and Noel Fisher, will no longer be available on Netflix starting 1st September.

These TMNT films join other major franchises like the ‘Tobey Maguire’ and Andrew Garfield ‘Spider-Man’ movies, as well as Eddie Murphy’s ‘Nutty Professor’ series, in leaving the streaming service at the end of the month.

The 2014 film, directed by Jonathan Liebesman and written by Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, and Evan Daugherty, received poor reception, with Rotten Tomatoes scores of 20% from critics and 50% from audiences. The sequel, ‘Out of the Shadows,’ fared slightly better with critics at 38% and 47% from audiences.

Despite a hefty $125 million budget, the first film grossed over $485 million worldwide, while the sequel, with a $135 million budget, earned about half that amount, pulling in $245 million globally.

If you’re a fan of the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, make sure to catch both movies on Netflix before they leave.
