Tom Hiddleston on Loki’s Return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, Says His Time in the MCU is ‘Not Over Yet’

In the eagerly awaited MCU movie ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, Tom Hiddleston is giving fans a sneak peek at what Loki will be getting up to next.

Hiddleston told ComicBook that he was thrilled to be working with the Russo Brothers again on their most recent Marvel production.  He expressed his excitement at being able to talk about the movie at last because he has frequently been in circumstances where he is aware of facts but is unable to divulge them.  When he thought back on his time as Loki, he characterized it as an incredible phase of his life that isn’t quite over.

Since playing the naughty Norse god in ‘Thor’ (2011), Hiddleston has played the part several times, including in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ (2023), ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (2018), ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019), ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ (2017), ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ (2015), ‘The Avengers’ (2012), and ‘Thor: The Dark World’ (2013).

With confirmed cast members including Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, and Chris Hemsworth as Thor, he is just one of several returning performers in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

Along with bringing back performers like Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, James Marsden as Cyclops, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, the movie will also officially unite the X-Men universe with the MCU.

Marvel will release ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ in 2027 after releasing ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ on 1st May, 2026.  Before then, two significant MCU movies are scheduled to be released in theaters: ‘Thunderbolts’ (2nd May, 2025) and ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ (25th July, 2025).
