Tom Holland is negotiating to be a part of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming movie. The Spider-Man actor will co-star with Matt Damon in this as-yet-untitled film if the contract closes. The movie, which Nolan is writing and directing, will be released by Universal Pictures on 17th July 2026.
Holland’s possible casting has not received any response from Universal. The movie is anticipated to begin production in early 2025, but Holland may have scheduling conflicts because he will be working on ‘Spider-Man 4’ and potentially the third ‘Avengers’ movie in the same year. He most recently starred with Francesca Amewudah-Rivers in a West End production of Romeo and Juliet.

After the success of his historical drama ‘Oppenheimer’, which took home the Oscar for Best Picture and brought in around $975 million worldwide, Nolan’s partnership with Universal continues with this film. This project is noteworthy because it marked the end of Nolan’s nearly two-decade collaboration with Warner Bros., the studio that produced several of his successful movies, such as ‘Inception’ and ‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy. Instead of looking into alternative possibilities, Nolan decided to deal directly with Universal for ‘Oppenheimer’.
Damon and Holland will probably be joined by a number of other A-list actors in ‘Oppenheimer’, which has a stellar cast that includes Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, Damon, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, and Josh Hartnett.
