Exciting news for ‘Spider-Man’ enthusiasts! Marvel Studios is in discussions with Destin Daniel Cretton to direct the upcoming fourth instalment of the ‘Spider-Man’ series. This revelation puts an end to speculation about the film’s directorial future, though Cretton has yet to officially finalise the agreement.
Following the dramatic events of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, this new film will see Cretton stepping into the director’s chair. Cretton, who previously brought his unique vision to ‘Shang-Chi’ and ‘the Legend of the Ten Rings’, was initially slated to direct the fifth Avengers film.

However, that role has since been taken over by the Russo Brothers, with the film now titled ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. Production for the new Spider-Man film is set to begin in early 2025. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are on board as producers, with Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna returning to pen the script. This collaboration promises an exciting new chapter for Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
Cretton’s involvement marks him as the fourth director for a standalone Spider-Man film, following Marc Webb’s work on the Amazing Spider-Man series and Jon Watts’ direction of the previous three Holland-starring films.

The last film, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, which earned over $1 billion globally, featured Peter Parker navigating a multiverse collision with appearances from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
After the success of ‘No Way Home’, Marvel Studios considered various directions for future Spider-Man films. Although their focus shifted to other projects in the interim, the latest developments signal a promising new phase for the web-slinger’s adventures.
