Top 5 Super Bowl Performances Of All Time

The 2021 Super Bowl is here, we can’t hold our excitement. This year, we have none other than The Weeknd taking the stage to perform at the half time show. Starting with ‘Starboy’ and moving into ‘The Hills’, the singer sang, ‘Can’t Feel My Face’, ‘I Feel It Coming’, ‘Save Your Tears’ and ‘Earned It’.

In 2020, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira performed during the Super Bowl halftime show. The performance also featured Bad Bunny and J Balvin. The act was also nominated for the 2020 Emmys.

As we celebrate the Super Bowl season, we want to show you the five of the best Super Bowl performances of all time, in no particular order.

1. Katy Perry: Super Bowl Half Time Show 2015

Katy Perry performed her hits like ‘Roar’, ‘Teenage Dreams’, ‘Dark Horses’, ‘California Gurls’, ‘Left Shark’, ‘Work It’, ‘Loose Control’ and ‘Firework’. She was also joined by Lenny Kravitz for ‘I Kissed a Girl’ and Missy Elliot for ‘Get Ur Freak On’.

There was no doubt that Katy Perry surprised everyone as she entered on a top of a large movable lion. She did not miss the chance to perform among dancing sharks as well as under fireworks for her songs.

2. Beyonce: Super Bowl Half Time Show 2013

Beyonce left her fans speechless with her performance during Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2013. Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams from the band, Destiny’s Child joined the ‘Crazy In Love’ singer on stage.

The performance by Beyonce was the second most-watched video of Super Bowl with 110.8 million views. Not only that, it generated 299,000 tweets per minute which made it the most tweeted moment in the history of Twitter.

Beyonce sang and danced to her classic hits ‘Love On Top’, ‘Eng Of Time’, ‘Single Ladies’, ‘Halo’ and ‘Baby Boy’. She proved that her live performances were truly extraordinary as she did her dance routines and sang on top of her voice.

3. Bruno Mars: Super Bowl Half Time Show 2014

Bruno Mars had everyone in total awe as soon as he started his set with an intense drumming session. He moved to sing ‘Locked Out Of Heaven’ and also his hit, ‘Just The Way You Are’. The singer was joined by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers for ‘Give It Away’.

The whole crowd sang “Oh-WHOOOA-wayoh-wayoh” for the bridge of ‘Treasure’, even the Broncos fans who were depressed could not help but join the energetic Bruno Mars.

4. Madonna: Super Bowl Halftime Show 2012

This was a comeback no one expected from Madonna. She rocked the stage as Nicki Minaj, CeeLo Green, LMFAO and M.I.A joined her. She entered as Elizabeth Taylor’s character Cleopatra from the 1963 film with the same title.

The singer performed ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’, ‘Like A Prayer’, ‘Vogue’ and more as her fans kept cheering her. The performance was almost upstaged by M.I.A due to her inappropriate gesture towards the camera. But then, Madonna gets all the credit for this powerful set.

5. Coldplay: Super Bowl Halftime Show 2016

Coldplay has never impressed their fans more than this powerful performance. The band delivered one of the most colourful shows in Super Bowl history. Beyonce and Bruno Mars might have outshone the band however it was one of those performances that made everyone smile.

From the crowd joining them to hum all the ‘Oh’s’ of their songs, they sang ‘Viva La Vida’, ‘Paradise’, ‘Adventures of a Lifetime’ and more. The band also tagged along with Bruno Mars for ‘Uptown Funk’ and Beyonce for her ‘Formation’ track.

One couldn’t help but feel pumped during and after the spectacular set. Coldplay represented dreams, Beyonce highlighted the power and Bruno Mars showed us how to celebrate, all in just 12 minutes.
