Travis Scott And Skepta Will be Headlining The Art Basel Festival Honouring Virgil Abloh

In honour of Virgil Abloh, Travis Scott and Skepta will headline the inaugural Mirror Mirror festival at Art Basel soon. The one-day music festival will be hosted at the FPL Solar Amphitheater in Miami, Florida, US, as part of the Miami Beach’s programme of events for the yearly art show there.

Virgil Abloh was an influential Off-White fashion designer who had strong ties with the music business and created album covers for artists like Jay-Z and Kanye West, in addition to working for other fashion house brands like Louis Vuitton.

DJ and producer Benji B curated the  Mirror Mirror lineup, which features Yves Tumor, Pedro, Venus X, Bambii, Rampa and Acyde. Benji B will also be performing.

A press release claims that the festival draws inspiration from old-world fairs and aims to unite individuals from the fields of music, art, design, technology, film, fashion and sport.

Virgil Abloh Securities, a creative business company Abloh formed, is spearheading  Mirror Mirror. The Virgil Abloh Foundation will be launched in 2023 with the help of all net profits from the event.

“Virgil had the ability to bring everyone together to create magic,” said Abloh’s widow, Shannon, who now serves as the CEO and Managing Director of Virgil Abloh Securities.

“With his close collaborators, we wanted to bring everyone together to celebrate Virgil – his legacy, his passion and his care for others. He believed his real work was championing others and we will continue his work supporting youth in the arts with the launch of the Virgil Abloh Foundation in 2023.”

Meanwhile, the new song ‘Down In Atlanta,’ on which Travis Scott and Pharrell Williams collaborated on, was released recently.
