Travis Scott Will be Launching His New Album ‘Utopia’ With a Pyramids of Giza Performance

Travis Scott seems to be finally back. The rapper is all set to launch ‘Utopia’, his first studio album in nearly five years at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. He made the announcement through social media posts on Instagram and Twitter.

“Utopia is wherever you are,” he wrote in one of the announcements. The livestream is all set to take place on the 28th of July. Tickets for the in-person event have already been sold out.

Scott has been fairly quiet about the specifics of the show, but while directing fans to ticket purchase links, he tweeted, “Can’t waitttt to see ya.” On Twitter, just moments before officially announcing the Giza Pyramids event, Scott posted, “Damnnnnnnn I misss y’all” along with a rare keyboard smash. These tweets marked Scott’s first significant engagement on the platform since November.

‘Utopia’ will be a follow-up to ‘Astroworld’, Travis’ third studio album which debuted at the top of Billboard 200 and spawned several Billboard Hot 100 hits such as ‘Sicko Mode’ (No. 1), ‘Stargazing’ (No. 8), and ‘Carousel’ (No. 24).

Scott has appeared as a featured artist on a good amount of recent singles, but his last unaccompanied singles arrived in 2021.

Scott’s performance at the Astroworld Festival was tragically marred by a crowd surge that claimed 10 lives and overshadowed the debut of his songs ‘Escape Plan’ and ‘Mafia’. A Texas grand jury, however, decided not to prosecute Scott for any offenses connected to the tragic incident.
