Trey Songz Tests Positive For COVID; Urges Fans To Take It Seriously

In some rather worrying news, the rapper-singer Trey Songz has tested positive for COVID-19. The artist recently took to social media to tell his story and to urge people not to take the virus lightly.

“Here with a very important message to let you know I tested positive for COVID-19. I’ve taken many tests as I’ve been out protesting, food drives, of course I have a very young son at home, so I get tested periodically and this time it unfortunately came back positive,” he explained.

Songz assured his fans that he’s been taking all the necessary precautions by self-quarantining “until I see a negative sign”. The artist also addressed the disturbing figures in relation to positive cases across the U.S. He emphasized, “One out of 1,000 Black people have died from it to date.” Songz also shared that even his grandfather passed away recently from what he believes was  coronavirus.

“I’ve always taken it serious, and if you come into contact with COVID, please do the same,” the rapper urged before adding, “Don’t be like the president”. This statement arrives in light of U.S. President Donald Trump contracting COVID-19. For the past few months, people have been criticizing his poor handling of the pandemic across the states. Between refusing to wear a mask and mocking people for their worry over the virus, the president himself had to receive emergency care over the weekend.

In other news, just last month Trey Songz released a fresh single ‘Circles’, which is said to have been inspired by Black love. Here’s hoping the rap star can make a speedy recovery and return to the music scene. Songz ended his Instagram message by thanking fans for their constant support, promising to keep them updated.
