Troye Sivan Teases New Music And Claims That The Next Album Is ‘Nearly Done’

Troye Sivan has given fans a taste of a track off his upcoming third studio album, hinting that it “is almost done.”

Sivan announced the news recently on Instagram by posting a sneak peek of an untitled song that “[probably] won’t come out for ages,” he wrote in the caption.

Sivan continued: “But I’m feeling cheeky. Album is almost done. Bark in the comments if you’re keen.” “God, I wish it was you,” a repeated line from the song’s opening seconds, appears to be in the teaser.

Sivan’s third studio album which doesn’t have a title yet, follows the releases of ‘Bloom’ in 2018 and ‘Blue Neighbourhood’ in 2015. In the years since, Sivan has released the 2020 EP ‘In A Dream,’ as well as the stand-alone songs ‘Angel Baby,’ ‘Trouble’ and ‘Wait,’ the latter two of which were included on the soundtrack of the Sivan-starring movie ‘Three Months’.

Sivan also worked on a remix of the song ‘Easy,’ which was originally featured on the album ‘In A Dream,’ alongside Mark Ronson and Kacey Musgraves. He released the whole version of the interlude ‘could cry just thinkin about you’ from that EP last year and collaborated with Tate McRae on the song ‘You’.

Last week, Sivan posted a separate glimpse of ‘You Know What I Need,’ a collaborative effort with the Australian electronic group PNAU. In May, the singer commented on a potential collaboration with K-pop group BTS, saying “if they ever want to write.. for me, or for us, or whatever, I’m very, very down.”

In addition to his studio work, Sivan was cast in the upcoming HBO series ‘The Idol’ last year, which is co-written by and stars The Weeknd. In addition to Hank Azaria, Mike Dean, Dan Levy, Eli Roth, Lily Rose-Depp and Mike, Moses Sumney is a member of the ensemble cast. ‘The Idol’ will debut next year.
