Troye Sivan Travels Back in Time in New ‘Easy’ Teasers

Amidst the downpour of new releases, Troye Sivan has arrived to keep us on our toes with three brand new teasers for his upcoming single, ‘Easy’. 

Now, just for some context, the young star broke the news of his single, in a series of Instagram posts last week. “Very very scared to, but putting out this song next week,” he wrote. 

Juggling between blurry shots of his face, a buzzing screen with the title and a sprinkle of photos of himself looking dapper in a grey suit – Troye Sivan has kept the suspense going. And just now, he arrived with a slice of the song.  

We hear him croon, “Between you and me, it hasn’t been easy, darling,” over a pleasant set of beats. It also appears that Sivan has jumped aboard the trend of experimenting with ’80s-inspired synth-pop sounds. From what we’ve heard so far, it’s a calming, mellow tune that seems to take off during the chorus. 

His vocals settle over some intriguing visuals. Under red and blue filters, the camera tracks in for a number of close-up shots of the artist. In fact, it looks like the entire music video will be playing out of an old television set, slightly grainy yet captivating. It also seems as though Troye Sivan has settled into an older era, in terms of sound, mood and visuals.

It’s quite a thrill to witness the Australian star dabble with different sounds. Not long back, he treated us to ‘Take Yourself Home‘ and we’ve been yearning for more, since. Thankfully though, the wait is almost over as ‘Easy’ is set to drop tomorrow, July 15th.
