Twenty One Pilots and d4vd Deliver Moving ‘Arcane’ Medley at The Game Awards 2024
At The Game Awards 2024, Twenty One Pilots, d4vd, and Royal & The Serpent came together for a deeply emotional medley performance in tribute to the animated series Arcane, based on the popular game League of Legends. Although Arcane was nominated for Best Adaptation, it ultimately lost the award to Fallout, but the show was still honoured through this powerful musical tribute curated by Riot Games.
The medley began with Royal & The Serpent delivering a heartfelt rendition of ‘Wasteland,’ followed by d4vd’s performance of ‘Remember Me,’ accompanied by iconic scenes from Arcane. The sequence concluded with Twenty One Pilots performing their haunting and beautiful track ‘The Line.’ All three songs were specially created for the Arcane soundtrack.
Season two of Arcane premiered in November, divided into three acts, each containing three episodes. This season marked the conclusion of the series, although Riot Games has confirmed that additional shows set in the Arcane and League of Legends universes are currently in development.
In an interview with RadioTimes in October, Arcane co-creator Christian Linke expressed interest in exploring new regions beyond Piltover and Zaun, which have been central to the series. He mentioned areas like Noxus, Ionia, Bilgewater, and even the quirky city of Bandal, highlighting that the team is eager to continue exploring the rich universe. Linke also emphasized that while no projects are in production yet, development is underway as they work on expanding the IP.
“Taking the characters as far as they can go” is the team’s focus, with Linke suggesting that they aim to see which stories have the most potential.
Meanwhile, The Line marks the first release from Twenty One Pilots since their Clancy era.
