U2 Unveils ‘ZOO TV – Live In Dublin’ 1993 EP
U2 has announced the release of the ‘Zoo TV – Live In Dublin’ EP, featuring five tracks recorded during their summer 1993 show at the RDS. This concert was part of the European Zooropa leg of their iconic ZOO TV Tour and marked a significant hometown performance for the band. While bootlegged audio copies of this show have been circulating and highly sought after for years, this EP will be the first official release, making it a prized collectible for fans and collectors. ‘Zoo TV – Live In Dublin’ is scheduled for release on 30th August.

Supporting their 1991 LP ‘Achtung Baby,’ U2’s Zoo TV Tour saw the Irish band perform in arenas and stadiums from 1992 to 1993. The tour was a multimedia spectacle, satirizing television and media oversaturation to create a “sensory overload” that mirrored the band’s new musical direction from the album.
A worldwide live radio broadcast of the 28th August show at the RDS in Dublin allowed approximately 700 million fans to tune in, with a distinctive ZOO TV message to ‘Watch More Radio’. The tour spanned 157 shows across five legs, playing to around 5.3 million fans. During this period, U2 also recorded and released ‘Zooropa.’
In other news, Moby recently mentioned that Bono and Pantera were the best people to party with in the 90s. Additionally, U2 sent Taylor Swift a bouquet of flowers before her concerts in Dublin last month, welcoming her back to their hometown and humourously asking her to “leave some of it standing.” The note was signed by Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr.
