Untitled Iron Maiden Feature Documentary for 2025: Universal Pictures Content Group Announces

According to Universal Pictures Content Group, the official, as-yet-untitled Iron Maiden feature documentary is currently under development.   The corporation owns the film's worldwide rights, and Universal Pictures International plans to show it in theatres around the world in the fall of 2025, coinciding with the band's 50th anniversary.  However, there is currently no confirmation of theatrical distribution in the United States.

With viewpoints from the band and its most ardent supporters, this eagerly awaited documentary takes audiences on an emotional journey through Iron Maiden's five-decade career.  Longtime superfans and well-known personalities from the music and movie industries, such as Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich, and Gene Simmons, will share their perspectives.   Exclusive interviews with important band members will also be included in the movie, including the last recorded conversation with original vocalist Paul Di'Anno, who passed away last year.

The video offers a visually striking experience that highlights Iron Maiden's enduring influence by fusing rare historical material with brand-new animated segments that feature the band's renowned mascot, Eddie.  It examines the cultural movement the band has influenced and emphasizes the close ties they have with their enormous global fan base.  The documentary questions conventional wisdom regarding the place of rock and heavy metal in larger fandom and music.

Founded in East London in 1975, Iron Maiden emerged as a leading figure in the British heavy metal movement's New Wave.  They have performed at over 2,500 performances in 64 countries on six continents and sold over 100 million records globally.  They will increase that total later this year when they set out on the huge Run For Your Lives tour, which begins in May in Budapest, Hungary.

‘Churchill at War’ director Malcolm Venville and ‘Spirits in the Forest – A Depeche Mode Film’ producer Dominic Freeman are behind the next Iron Maiden documentary.  The project's executive producer is Helen Parker, who is also the executive producer of ‘Bogart: Life Comes in Flashes’ and the EVP of Universal Pictures Content Group.
