With the Korean music scene gaining worldwide appreciation and multiple fans, it is not rare to see the traction, members of bands are getting with their solo releases. The hype increases as Vernon from Seventeen releases his solo mixtape track ‘Black Eye’ with a new visual. “I’m on my worst behaviour / How you like me now? / Put a muzzle on me...,” Vernon sings his new song.
The rapper from the famous boy band Seventeen dropped his debut solo mixtape across multiple streaming platforms. This is accompanied by an official music video for the pop-punk track ‘Black Eye’. The song is co-written and co-composed by Vernon himself. The music video is fascinating in itself, wherein Vernon runs through an abandoned city with no civilization, and wrecks havoc on the same.
This track makes Vernon the fourth member from the band to drop a solo project after Woozi’s ‘Ruby’, Hoshi’s ‘Spider’, and Dino’s ‘0 (Zero)’ and ‘The Real Thing’. Vernon has also previously collaborated with Charli XCX for the remix of her single ‘Beg For You’. The song had an English verse from Vernon which was not a part of the song before.
This collaboration was a consequence of online interactions between the two, who were then coerced by fans to come together for a project. Sometimes fans do get all they wish for! The band Seventeen is also set to perform in the Philippines and Indonesia for the Asian leg of their world tour for ‘Be The Sun’.
