Vintage Shows Turn Horror in a Flash: Watch the 'Mr. Crocket' Trailer Now!

Parenting is challenging enough, but what happens when letting kids watch their favorite TV show becomes a dangerous mistake? Hulu has released the official trailer for ‘Mr. Crocket’ is a supernatural horror film with a nostalgic yet unsettling 90s vibe. The trailer opens with a tender moment between a mother and her young son as she puts on a seemingly innocent children's variety show. A cassette is inserted into the VHS player, and the bubbly ‘Mr. Crocket’ show begins with a cheerful sing-along. However, things quickly turn sinister when Mr. Crocket emerges from the screen while the mother is away and kidnaps the child. Unfortunately, he’s just one of many victims.

‘Mr. Crocket’ is set to debut on Hulu on 11th October 2024, and will have its world premiere next week at Fantastic Fest. The film is produced by David Brooks, Arbi Pedrossian, Jenna Cavelle, and Carl Reid as part of WorthenBrooks’ first-look horror deal with Hulu Originals. The plot summary reveals:

“In 1993, a mysterious children’s show host, Mr. Crocket, magically comes out of TV sets to abduct children and violently murder their parents. After her son is taken, one determined mother embarks on a dangerous journey to track down the demonic entertainer and save her child.”

Directed by newcomer Brandon Espy, ‘Mr. Crocket’ is based on Espy’s 2022 short film of the same name, created for Hulu’s ‘Bite Size Halloween’. Co-written with Carl Reid, the film marks Espy's feature-length debut. Producers include Sean King O’Grady, Josh Feldman, and Jesse Ford, with Miles Alva as executive producer.

The cast features Jerrika Hinton (‘Hunters’), Elvis Nolasco (‘Godfather of Harlem’), Ayden Gavin, Kristolyn Lloyd, and Alex Akpobome. ‘Mr. Crocket’ will begin streaming on Hulu on 11th October.
