Viral pygmy hippo Moo Deng has made her musical debut with her first official single, performing in four languages.

At just four months old, the Thai sensation, who lives at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Si Racha, has ventured into the pop scene with the lively track ‘Moodeng Moodeng.’ The 50-second song features lyrics in Thai, English, Chinese, and Japanese, and transitions into a ska-inspired section after chanting “Moo Deng, Moo Deng.”

The song was composed and produced by Mueanphet Ammara, a renowned Thai composer, and released by GMM Music, one of Thailand’s leading music labels. While there’s no announcement yet of an EP or album, ‘Moodeng Moodeng’ is available now on all major streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.

Since her birth in July, Moo Deng the pygmy hippo has captured the internet’s attention. After the Khao Kheow Open Zoo introduced her on Facebook, the adorable hippo—whose name translates to “bouncy pork” (a Thai meatball)—quickly became an online sensation thanks to her playful behaviour, flawless appearance, and hilarious expressions. Moo Deng even became the subject of an SNL sketch.

In addition to her online fame, Moo Deng also gained attention for accurately predicting the outcome of the U.S. presidential election by choosing a watermelon marked with Trump’s name.

In the world of gaming, players of Final Fantasy 14 have called for their own hippo calf minion, with fans even creating merchandise using game mods to honour the popular animal.
