Watch Måneskin’s Damiano David Perform a Cover of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ ‘Die With a Smile’

Måneskin frontman Damiano David has performed a cover of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ recent collaborative single, ‘Die With a Smile.’

The Italian singer-songwriter offered a stripped-down version of the ballad, which was originally released in August, during a live session at SiriusXM Hits 1 in the SiriusXM NYC studios. Accompanied by his backing vocalists and live band, David delivered an intimate yet powerful rendition of the track. You can watch it here:

The radio session was part of David’s promotion for his new solo project, which he kicked off in September with his debut single, ‘Silverlines,’ produced by Labrinth. He has since released a second track, ‘Born With a Broken Heart,’ last month, and made his solo live debut with an intimate performance in New York.

In a recent interview earlier, the musician shared details about his upcoming solo album. When asked if the album would be varied and deeply personal, he confirmed that it would be.

David further explained that the album would be over-the-top, intense, and quite theatrical, adding that it would be more intimate and focused on the emotional complexity of life, particularly in light of the current situation.

His solo project would be a comprehensive musical endeavour. The singer mentioned that fans could look forward to a live tour and that he had a potential drummer in mind, but emphasized that nothing was finalized yet, as he didn’t want to tempt fate.

However, he clarified that this wouldn’t signal the end of Måneskin. The band’s bassist, Victoria De Angelis, has announced her own solo project, including her debut single, “Get Up B**ch (Shake Ya A**),” featuring Anitta, set for release in 2024.

Last year, the frontman reflected on the possibility of going solo, expressing that he could see it being both a very positive experience and potentially quite destructive.
