Wedding Bells Are on the Horizon for Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have announced their engagement! The 32-year-old singer-actress shared the happy news on December 11 via Instagram, posting a series of photos that included a close-up of her engagement ring and a joyful moment between the couple. In her caption, she wrote, “forever begins now..”

Blanco, 36, couldn’t contain his excitement, commenting, “hey wait… that’s my wife.” Gomez also shared a mirror selfie on her Instagram Stories, proudly showing off her new ring.

The couple, who have known each other for years, first collaborated on the 2019 hit ‘I Can’t Get Enough’ with Tainy and J Balvin. They started dating in June 2023, and by August, Gomez released the Blanco-produced single ‘Single Soon.’ The pair went public with their relationship later that year when Gomez liked fan posts about them and even commented, “He is my absolute everything in my heart.” They made their red carpet debut together at the 2024 Emmys in January.

Blanco had previously hinted at marriage during a May appearance on The Howard Stern Show, saying he couldn’t imagine a world better than the one he shared with Gomez. Gomez later spoke about their relationship in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, emphasizing how important it was to find someone who respected her and understood her unique life. She expressed how safe and fulfilled she felt with Blanco, calling the relationship “really lovely.”

In an interview earlier this year, Gomez revealed that if she hadn’t met anyone, she planned to adopt a child by the time she turned 35. After spending five years alone, she had accepted her situation and made peace with it. But when she met Blanco, everything changed. She noted how love can surprise you when you least expect it.

Gomez also posted a heartfelt birthday tribute to Blanco on Instagram in March, praising his emotional resilience, positivity, humour, and kindness. Blanco, in a May interview with WSJ. Magazine, admitted he was the last to recognize his feelings for Gomez, describing the moment he realized he was in love as a “Clueless” moment. In July, Gomez shared another sweet message on Instagram, thanking him for sharing his life with her every day.
