What Have the Black Eyed Peas Been Up to In Quarantine?

Black Eyed Peas Been

A lot of musicians are letting fans in on their quarantine shenanigans and the Black Eyed Peas are no exception. The band along with J Rey Soul gave fans a tour of their home, in Billboard’s latest ‘Takeover’ video.

The video starts with a brief tour from Will.i.am. The camera zooms through the band’s meeting rooms, recording studios, living room, etc. If you were wondering, yes, their crib looks like a futuristic robot cave. Filled with bright neon lights, large screens and bizarre curios, the space is the perfect embodiment of all things Black Eyed Peas.

Next in line was J Rey Soul who expressed her excitement over working with the band and Ozuna on the track, ‘Mamacita’. Calling it an “amazing experience”, she even mentioned that Gucci had sent over their entire runway collection just for the video shoot.  Now, “Mamacita” samples Madonna’s 1987 hit single “La Isla Bonita,”  and the track is still soaring through charts world over.

The video takes a page from Wes Anderson’s books, and for that sole reason, you shouldn’t miss out on it. J Rey herself gushed about how proud she was of the video and song. As the video chugs on, we see Taboo show off his very impressive sneaker collection. Next up, apl.de.ap enters to whip up a health-shake, putting down all the ingredients before proceeding with his tutorial. All in all, it’s quite a wholesome video.

The Black Eyed Peas Gear Up to Drop ‘Translation’

Billboard recently got Avril Lavigne onboard for a similar segment. Her quarantine activities involved songwriting, cooking and our personal favourite: mastering the art of skating and mopping up floors at the same time.

Anyway, back to the Black Eyed Peas. They’re are also gearing up to release their brand new album titled, ‘Translation’. This one features cameos from Shakira, Tyga, Becky G and a number of other stars.

‘Translation’ is set to drop on June 19th. Much like other musicians, the Black Eyed Peas hopes to raise everyone’s spirits with this album.
