2021 Emmy Nominations: Billie Eilish, Emma Corrin, And More In The Line-Up

The past year has seen us being heavily dependent on television for distraction as we grapple with the pandemic that has kept us homebound. As we acknowledge the contributions of these shows that have kept us on our toes, here’s the complete breakdown of the Emmy Nominations for the year.

Streaming-platforms For The Win!

It seems like the year for streaming platforms as these services take up the bounty of the nominations. The Crown, The Mandalorian, and WandaVision seem to have stolen the show as they receive the maximum number of nominations this time. The Crown and The Mandalorian both at 24 nod each and WandaVision following at close heels with 23.

Despite its dominant performance in the past year, a Netflix series has never been able to take home the much-coveted prize for Best Drama but considering the terrific performance from The Crown, we might be looking at a little history-making moment this time!

The competition looks to be tough this time.

The Music Department

Several music-related works have also been nominated for mixing, editing, and music direction awards. Billie Eilish’s documentary- Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry has been nominated under four categories(Sound mixing, Sound Editing, Picture Editing, and Music Direction).  David Byrne’s American UtopiaZoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, and Bo Burnham: Inside are some of the other masterpieces that are on the line for the awards.
