The upcoming HBO series 'Lanterns' is only the start of the journey for the iconic character John Stewart. Aaron Pierre, who recently starred in 'Rebel Ridge' and 'Mufasa: The Lion King,' is officially set to bring his DC hero to movie theatres in the highly anticipated Superman sequel, 'Man of Tomorrow.'
In this new cinematic chapter, Pierre joins an impressive lineup that includes David Corenswet returning as Clark Kent, Nicholas Hoult as the genius Lex Luthor, and Lars Eidinger taking on the role of the villainous Brainiac. Before he hits the big screen, however, fans will get their first look at Pierre's version of the character this August. In the television series, he is introduced as a Green Lantern in training.

About Aaron Pierre's HBO series 'Lanterns'
The show takes its inspiration from the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic police force responsible for keeping peace throughout the universe. These heroes use power rings fueled by pure willpower, allowing them to fly and manifest anything they can imagine—ranging from protective force fields and energy blasts to complex tools and weapons.
In the series, the veteran hero Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler, serves as a mentor to John. At the start of the story, John is only two months into his training and hasn't even put on the ring yet. The two find themselves in the American Heartland investigating a mysterious murder, a case that is expected to have major consequences for the wider DC Universe.
