Aaron Taylor-Johnson Joins Cast for ’28 Years Later’

Danny Boyle’s upcoming film ’28 Years Later’ has announced some exciting additions to its cast, including Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes.

The eagerly awaited sequel to the cult classic ’28 Days Later’ is set to hit screens worldwide, courtesy of Sony Pictures. The original film, released in 2002, introduced Cillian Murphy to audiences, propelling him to stardom. Directed by Boyle and written by Alex Garland, it was a critical and commercial success. A sequel titled ’28 Weeks Later’ followed in 2007.

Details of the new film’s plot remain shrouded in secrecy, with Garland penning the screenplay. This instalment is part of an upcoming trilogy, with discussions underway for Nia DaCosta to helm the second film.

Boyle and Garland are on board as producers, alongside original producers Andrew Macdonald and Peter Rice. Bernie Bellew joins the production team as well. Murphy will also return as an executive producer, although his on-screen involvement is yet to be confirmed.

Comer, renowned for her Emmy-winning performance as Villanelle in ‘Killing Eve,’ is set to make waves in ‘The Bikeriders’ sharing the screen with Austin Butler and Tom Hardy.

Taylor-Johnson, known for his roles in ‘Bullet Train’ and ‘Nocturnal Animals,’ has a trio of highly anticipated movies lined up for release this year: ‘The Fall Guy,’ ‘Kraven the Hunter’ and ‘Nosferatu.’ Meanwhile, Fiennes, last seen in Wes Anderson’s ‘The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More,’ is gearing up for ‘The Return’ and ‘Conclave.’
