Adam Sandler’s Beloved Chocolate Bar Makes a Sweet Comeback

Nothing can come between Adam Sandler and his favourite candy bar, even if it’s been discontinued. During the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie ‘Spaceman’ at the Egyptian Theater, the 57-year-old actor revealed his ultimate sweet treat, the Marathon bar, which is no longer in production.

As Sandler, playing astronaut Jakub Prochazka in the film, was asked about the junk food he’d take to space, he expressed a craving for the Marathon bar, explaining, “You ever have one of those? They don’t make them anymore. Maybe they make only a few.”

When questioned if he has a secret source for the discontinued snack, Sandler humorously responded, “That’s good. No, I don’t. Maybe I do. I’m Sandler for God’s sake, I can get a Marathon bar, all right.”

The Marathon bar, known for its chocolate and caramel combination in a braided-like form, was discontinued in 1981 after an eight-year run. Sandler hinted that Cadbury’s Curly Wurly bars, with similarities, might be a suitable alternative, though they are scarcely available in the U.S.

Sandler, accompanied by his family at the ‘Spaceman’ premiere, also discussed working with his daughters Sadie, 17, and Sunny, 15, in multiple movies. When asked if casting them in films is a great way to spend time, Sandler admitted, “They still don’t talk to you.

They go do their thing.” Despite being known for comedy, Spaceman showcases Sandler in a more dramatic role as astronaut Jakub dealing with marriage issues while on a solo mission.

The movie, based on Jaroslav Kalfař’s 2017 book ‘Spaceman of Bohemia’, is set to release on Netflix on 1st March, featuring Sandler’s character seeking help from a mysterious creature, Hanuš, voiced by Paul Dano, to unravel the challenges in his life.
