Adidas is Suing Kanye West For $250 Million

Kanye West has made claims that Adidas is pursuing legal action against him to the tune of $250 million. The partnership between the rapper and the sportswear brand ended in 2022 shortly after he made comments that were perceived as anti-Semitic on X/Twitter. West has been adamant in his refusal to acknowledge the term "anti-Semitism," insisting that it's "not factual."

However, he has offered a sort of "apology" to those who may have been offended by his remarks.

West recently revealed that he was on the brink of bankruptcy just two months after Adidas severed ties with him. Now, he alleges that Adidas is suing him and supposedly selling counterfeit versions of the YZY footwear line they had collaborated on.

"Let me make it clear what’s going on with Adidas. Not only are they releasing unapproved colourways, they're suing me for $250 million," West stated.

He also highlighted that Adidas is withholding payment for shoes bearing his name that they are manufacturing without his consent. West expressed his frustration, accusing Adidas of exploiting him, despite his status as one of the public's beloved artists.

In a follow-up post, West shared a screenshot of the shoes on the Adidas website, urging fans not to purchase the unauthorized Yeezys. He criticised the lack of public outcry against the situation, contrasting it with the attention given to lesser issues.

"While everyone speaks out against a T-shirt or the colour of my hat, no one says or does anything when they witness a Fortune 500 company mistreat one of your heroes in real life," West wrote.

He also questioned the response of the system and his supporters to the situation, expressing concerns about potential repercussions such as the removal of his album, account freezes, or threats to those who choose to work with him. West concluded by dismissing the unauthorised 350s as "corny."
